2013 Harvest - A challenging year

tour de belfort 2013 harvestOur new 2012 wines have been released just as our 2013 vintage is being harvested.  The effort we poured into our grapes last year has been rewarded with a selection of great wines that make us very proud and that have also attracted another crop of awards. The pleasure we find in sipping from our glass makes up for all the hard work over the past months.

Our new 2012 vintage awarded Gold and Silver

We're celebrating the great news that this year once again, our Tour De Belfort red and white wines, 2012 vintage, have been awarded prestigious medals: Gold for our red by the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, and Silver for our white by the Vignerons Indépendants (National Federation of Independent winemakers). This gives us a total of 12 awards since our first vintage of 2009.

Bristish weather in our vines

Our famous poet Verlaine wrote: “It rains in my heart as it rains on the town”… so true for our fragile state of mind while watching cold rain falling on our flowering vines. Parts of our white grapes have consequently suffered from “coulure” when the flowers will not develop in juicy berries but in irregular small grapes.

The Decanter article of 19th February 2013, implies that the situation has not changed as a recent French study exposed pesticide residues in 90% of wines.
